About your Growth Scan
While doing a growth scan you will find out how well your baby is growing and if he or she is suffering from any physical abnormalities.
Having this kind of scan is very exciting as you get to see your baby clearly. If by any chance you start feeling a little apprehensive, the team at Baby Scan Clinic will make sure that you a carrying, personal service when you book your scan.
What to expect on the day
If you let us measure your baby, we can make sure that he or she is growing properly. One of our friendly and experienced sonographers will take measurements as accurate as possible of your baby’s legs, head and tummy. When comparing these measurements to what is considered “normal” at the given stage, we can tell of your baby is developing as it should.
Everything in the sonographer’s notes and related to the measurements will be recorded on a printed report which you may take home after the end of the appointment. In case no clear measurements can be obtained, an internal transvaginal probe can be done. The sonographer you were assigned with will give you any further details.
Preparing for your scan
Feel free to eat and drink anything before your appointment, but remember to wear clothes that are loose. It will not be necessary for you to have a full bladder.
